After a long wait for the new Oppo smartphone, we have great news! Oppo R7 Plus and Oppo R7 Lite is finally coming to Malaysia. The trend of smartphones have definitely been gearing towards coming out with a new series with 2 models, a regular version, and a larger “phablet” version of the phone with slight differences in functions. This can be seen from the release of the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus from Apple, and the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge from Samsung.
Similarities between R7 Plus and R7 Lite
The Oppo R7 Plus and R7 Lite is similar in exterior design of a metal unibody. The 2 models will also share similar specifications like the 13 MP Sony IMX278 main camera, impressive 8 MP “selfie” camera, a Qualcomm Snapddragon 615 octa-core procccessor, and will also come with a preinstalled ColorOS 2.1. The camera is able to shoot an Ultra HD images with up to 52 MP resolution! That’s an amazing feature for a smartphone that major brands like Apple, Samsung, or HTC does not offer. Oppo have been known for its amazing cameras, started with the Oppo N1 then the Oppo Find 7, and today they have made it very clear in this R7 series.

Differences between R7 Plus and R7 Lite
Some might question whether there will be enough differences between the two models, and which one will be a better choice. The R7 Plus comes with a 6 inch full HD AMOLED display. The R7 Lite’s display is only at 5 inch, closer to the size of an iPhone 6. Those who love larger screens like the Galaxy Note 3 or Galaxy Note 4, and uses their phone to watch movies would definitely appreciate the amazing quality of the screen of the R7 Plus. While those who have not handled a larger phablet before will find that the Plus model is too big to use with one hand. So, if you like a phone that isn’t too bulky to carry around, definitely get the R7 Lite model.

Battery is also another important differences to note. The R7 Plus model is powered by the giant 4,100mAh battery. The smaller R7 Lite has a lower battery capacity of 2,320mAh. However, both supports Fast Charge as well.
The bigger R7 Plus will also have the fingerprint scanner for security while the Lite version will not this feature. For now, the Plus will only come in gold, while the Lite will also come in silver to appeal in the broader market. However, we did see many leaked photos of the R7 Plus in silver. We shall wait and see..
